Haute Couture Wedding Dresses

My brother and his fiance got engaged which I was so happy for them. I found out that I was pregnant with our first child a few months ago, I was asked a few weeks earlier to be a bridesmaid. I have declined the offer now as I know that I will be very pregnant for their wedding. They have now told my family that they are going to have a big Las Vegas wedding ( which SHE wants). My brother would have been happy getting married on the beach here in British Columbia where it is just absolutely beautiful. I definitely respect the fact that she wants to have a big wedding with the white dress and all of that. The fact is though, my brother is not rich and neither is my family. She has a very low paying job which I know a lot of the expenses will fall on my poor brother who is already is a lot of debt from school. They are requesting everyone to fly down there and pay for their own expenses, no problem. My husband and I just don’t have the money to go so we will miss the wedding, also i will be over 7 months pregnant at the time and would really prefer not to fly out of the country. He is my only brother and I am so upset that I will not get to see him get married. My family is struggling to be able to pay their ways down there, and it is looking like they may not be able to go either. I kind of thought they may reconsider the Vegas wedding as none of us can go, but she is adminant on having it there. My brother has recently told us that he doesn’t care if we can make it or not, he wants to give her the huge, expensive wedding she has always dreamed of ( and can’t pay for). What are some of your thoughts on this? I respect the fact that it is their wedding and they can have it wherever they please, but since most of out family can’t go, wouldn’t you try to figure out another alternative? I am so sad!

i’m getting married, and i don’t want a white dress, every black wedding dress i find is really expensive and scary/Gothic looking…. i want something pretty, and not too expensive, =D thanks

Im not going for the goth look, i just loved the contrast of the two colors and i personally feel that baby blue and light greens are a little too eastery for a wedding and since my wedding is in April these are the more popular colors. Im not too crazy about pastel bridemaid dresses. I will have an all white wedding dress and my bridesmaids will have black dresses with a white sash. Any Opinions??? Thanks!

i have two weddings that I have to go to this saturday I was planning on wearing a pretty white and black dress but someone then told me that it is not ok to where white or black to a wedding now I am confused so should I where the dress or find something else both of the weddings are very traditional I don’t know if that matters at all or not please answer I need as much help as possible thanks so much
ps both weddings are very good friends of mine I don’t want to offend anyone.

I’m not a christian and nor is the man i’m engaged too. We still want the white dress and gathering of our family (probably an outdoors wedding) but who will marry us formally? Are there people from the state who can come to a formal wedding? I live in Chicago, IL if that is any help..

I have looked online for black and white wedding dresses but im scared to buy to online and it not fit right. I am new to SD and don’t know many places. Where in san diego ca can i find a store that will carry a black and white wedding or quinceanera dress for a decent price? Please don’t reply with look in a phone book its not that simple.

I live in CT, and am planning a beach wedding. I need a beachy white dress, without some massive train. I like the more “informal” look. It could either hit the floor, or be just above the floor with one of those subtle ruffled layered look. I like this dress ….

However, I called the 1-800 number, to get the price, and they say they cannot give me any info and they are ONLY customer service for actual “stores”. She told me I would have to wait and go through a local store, and then have them find out for me. I find this a little surprising, and Im sure their price is less than what the store will tell me. Can anyone please help me out?
